Consultancy for Design of Environmental & Food Laboratory Facility for Jeddah Municipality

At the time of project, the existing Municipality laboratory has limited testing capability. Therefore, Jeddah Municipality has appointed DFB to provide consultancy of the design and setting up of a new comprehensive Analytical Laboratory.
The laboratory facility was designed to provide physical, chemical and microbiological testing of water, wastewater, air, food and pesticides in food. The basis of standards was sourced from the Saudi Arabia Standard Organization (SASO) and relevant international standards for laboratory.
The design aspects covered test methods, lab equipment & consumables specifications, man power, quality management system, ISO17025 certification, operation principles, building layout plans, workflow and lab information management system (LIMS). DFB also provided cost estimate and implementation basis.
Environmental Monitoring at the East Lake and the Surrounding of Wadi Al Asla, Jeddah

The East Lake was formed due to long-term discharge of sewage disposal. The environmental monitoring report provided an initial assessment of the contamination impacts around the East Lake and areas south of the lake within Wadi Al Asla. Scope of work included physical, chemical and microbiological testing of the lake water, groundwater and bottom sludge at various locations.
The study results was used for the subsequent assessment of the contamination impacts on ground conditions and any associated risk to human health and the environment, as well as to identify potentials for treatment of the contaminated water; and finally, to identify the potential for beneficial re-use of the sludge.

Conducting an environmental impact assessment study including all baseline study for soil, air, groundwater and conducting AERMODE dispersion model to predict the future air emissions and the sensitive receptors in the nearest surrounding area.
EIA study for using of fly ash as derivative fuel
Client: Al Safwa Cement Co. Location: Rabigh
Conducting scope EIA study for using of fly ash as derivative fuel. The study include stack testing and monitoring during experimental use of fly ash in cement kiln , also ambient air monitoring using mobile lap for SOX, NOX, PM10, PM2.5, CO. Analysis for the fly ash samples and cement product samples for vanadium and heavy metals.
